A kiln named Olive
Olive. After my grandmother. Her hands were always busy with needlework- crewel, embroidery, cross stitch. When I gifted her a bowl I had made, she turned it over in her hands, admiring it, then looked me straight in the eyes. “You could make money doing this” she said. Yes! Thank you Grandma!
That was all the validation I needed to set my course along the pottery road. I’d love to share the journey with you, your pottery group, or your studio. I’m firing cone6 reduction, with a little salt/soda thrown in for effect. Want to fire a few pieces? Fill half the kiln? Or even a whole kiln to yourself? Olive (the kiln) is available for rental.
You will need to use a cone6 clay suitable for reduction firing- no super dark firing bodies or speckled clays please. Use your own cone6 glazes, or use mine… or a little bit of both.
Let’s talk and make a plan!
